I can’t believe its been about a month since I posted on here last. I’m hoping to start updating much more often now that the season has started. In the offseason and the preseason, there isn’t much going on in terms of basketball. I don’t think people check out the blog to find out about my personal life so that’s why I haven’t updated much.
For the dinner each player had his own table. Whoever ended up sitting at the table with us had to fill out an info card that they used to introduce us to the rest of the room. They were told to find out 2 things about us that our teammates didn’t know. My first one was that I’m a good bowler - career high of 266. The second was a story from high school when we were playing Pope (Bucklin’s high school) and my contact got knocked out in the middle of the game. I found it on the floor and ran into the bathroom to put it back in. On the way out I realized that I had been in the women’s room.
Here are some facts about our team that you might not know:
Quote of the week:
“Yo AJ (Albert Jackson), did you see your picture in the whats-it-called? The red and orange?” -Unnamed teammate
“You mean the Red and Black right?” - Me

So is everything coming together on offense and defense? Do you get to play in the scrimmage against Clemson?
It was great to be able to meet the team and get some insight on the year.
Here is my write up on the Friday event. http://www.alanashley.com/blog/2009/10/24/a-new-e...
Thanks Connor. And Orange? As a Georgia native you better help your teammates understand the neccessary hatred for that color–Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Clemson. A healthy hate of the color orange is mandatory for all Dawgs.
Alan, I don't know for sure about the Clemson scrimmage but the past two years at Furman we had some guys redshirting and they did not play in it.
Mr. Sanchez, I'm with you on that.
Hey Connor, just wanted to say welcome to Bulldawg Nation. We're so excited to have you and can't wait to see you play next year. After glancing over your blog and following your tweets what impresses me the most is how humble, grateful, & excited you are to be at UGA. I know the feeling. I got my BA from UGA and just finished a graduate degree. Being at UGA and in Athens has changed & defined my life in such positive ways that are truly indescribable. My wish & hope for you is the same experience. Enjoy it!
Thank you for sharing your life as a Hoop Dawg w/ us on twitter & for opening up your life on your blog. As a supporter of both the football & basketball programs, its always great to have an opportunity to encourage the players as often as possible. I'm sure its going to be tough to sit out this season as a transfer, but i hope you have the time of your life as a Dawg nonetheless.
Best wishes to you, the team & Coach Fox and his staff for a fantastic season of new beginnings at UGA. I'll be at a lot of games cheering y'all on! Thanks again and GATA!!!
Go Dawgs!
Thanks. Its an exciting time to be part of the basketball program here at UGA. Hopefully this blog will give fans a some additional insight to the program.
