Its that time of year again. By “that time of year” I mean:

  • The poster and media guide are out and of course some guys don’t like their pictures.  (See: Whatley, Ebuka, and Travis).
  • No matter how early you get to our training facility someone is going to be there either hanging out, watching NBA TV, getting taped, doing homework, playing pool, etc. waiting for practice to start.
  • When you get to practice the weather is awesome and the sun is shining and when you get out of practice the its dark and cold outside.
  • The media stops by to interview players (I can’t confirm this but I’ve heard it happens).
  • The week’s designated off day feels like Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday all rolled into one.
  • Basketball players around the country wear their team issued sweats like its an everyday uniform because a) no time to do laundry b) no point in dressing up if you’re going to be headed to practice right after class c) they are ridiculously comfortable

We had a scrimmage against Clemson this past Sunday. One of the rules for transfers is that we can’t travel. I really underestimated how it would feel to be sitting around in Athens while my team is competing. I didn’t like it AT ALL. At least most of our away games this year will be on local TV so I can watch. Its just weird to go through conditioning, weights, and practice every day for the last few months and then be completely out of the loop come gameday.

We have an exhibition game tomorrow night against North Georgia at 7. If you live in Athens you need to come out. Its free and I think its general admission so you should be able to get some good seats.

I know you are probably wondering if I’m gonna go all Chad OchoCinco on you and tweet during the game but thats not gonna happen.  Sorry.
