I agree that it would be pretty tempting to bow Artest and that he might not have gotten the rebound if he didn't do it BUT that that doesn't mean it wasn't dirty.

There is no doubt in my mind that Kobe intentionally threw the elbow in an effort to get Artest to stop playing so physical.

Maybe I'm just in constant awe of Kobe, but I really don't see much wrong with the elbow. He's clearly battling for position and without moving like that he doesn't get the rebound. Maybe he went a little high but I think it can also be classified as playing hard and going for a rebound.
And who wouldn't want to bow Artest?
