I don’t think I can put into words how great it feels for me to honestly say: there is NOWHERE in the WORLD I’d rather be than where I am right now.
A year ago, I was sitting in my dorm room having my own version of a panic attack contemplating my future. I could either suck it up and play my last 2 years of eligibility at Furman, or I could decide to transfer, placing a financial burden on my parents by forfeiting my $60,000 scholarship and possibly end my college basketball career.
I knew I couldn’t live with the regret of not trying to play at my dream school, UGA. Coach Fox got hired 3 days after I asked for my release and I’m here at UGA now and I thank God every day for the way it all turned out.
Before the Kentucky game on Wednesday I had the opportunity of a lifetime. Charles Barkley, one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players EVER, came into Athens for the game. Coach Fox talked him into coming extra early to participate in my Game Day Trick Shot project. He was unbelievably gracious and hilarious as usual.
I’ll probably put up a post during the offseason with some details on the video shoot and some pictures. For now, let me know what you think of the video. Technically I’m leaking it 4 hours before March 6th but I can’t help it.
If you didn’t get that watch this:

Connor, thanks for all the work you have put in on getting the word out about the dawgs
suh weet!
Hey, Connor! What an EXCITING junior year you have had at UGA!! Looking from the outside, it sure LOOKS like you have a very bright future…maybe even in college athletics! YOU are already a GREAT ambassador to UGA and collegiate athletics! They, too, should feel blessed with your decision!
I hold no ill will toward Barkley because he went to Auburn, but it made me think…it would be nice to get Dominique on a future video shoot. And speaking of the top 50 NBA players, it was an absolute travesty that Dominique was not one of those named. He was #7 among the all-time NBA scoring leaders when he retired and is currently #12 all-time.
Nique is obviously busy with the Hawks, but surely we can get him back to Athens at least once or twice a year for a big game.

[...] Nolte (PassersRemorse.com) has posted his game day trick shot with Charles Barkley. Barkley, who is a friend of Mark Fox, came to Athens to help Nolte with his basketball [...]
Absolutely awesome work. I was hoping he'd make reference to the greatest commercial in television history. Love the blog, keep up the great work and GO DAWGS!
hahahaha awesome!
Did Charles actually attempt any trick shots?
Sir Charles has officially tied Vince Dooley as my favorite Auburn graduate. The guy's hilarious, and he really does seem like a genuinely good guy. To skip the last game at Beard-Eaves and come to Athens to help out with the Game Day Trick Shot and also check out his buddy Mark Fox's team is just awesome. I would have loved to see him try to put up a shot!
Greg's got a great point, though. I'd love to see some Georgia greats get in on this in the future. Maybe some of them get back into town in the summertime. Jarvis Hayes would participate, I'm sure, and Dominique, too.
He didn't actually attempt any trick shots. We pretty much ran out of impressive looking trick shots in the practice gym. We could have come up with something but I didn't want to waste Charles' time.
That's hilarious!
Thanks Robert! I'm looking forward to speaking at FCA also. Come say hey when I come to your school.
Priceless!
Saw this on the AJC man, nice work!!
hey i got a pic with him at the game
